Challenge 11: Anything Goes or Scary but Cute

Hi there!

Time flies past!
We are already in autumn and presenting Challenge 11.
Very soon it's going to be the first anniversary of the presentation of our DT
and we are going to throw in a partty!
Can you guess??
Yes, it will be a Halloween party!!

But for now, we are going to present the current challenge
with the theme Anything Goes or Scary but Cute, if you prefer.

Today we have a Guest Designer.
For some of us she is a friend, a teacher, and example to follow on.
An internationally recognized crafter,
she is a great colourer and the only certified Copic Instructor in Spain.
And we are very happy to have her with us here today.
I leave you with her project and a presentation on her own words.

Hello!
 I'm Cristina Valenzuela.
I live near Barcelona, I have a 6 year old daughter
and I try to give colour to all the days of my life.
It is a pleasure for me to be Guest Designer in Aliciabel Challenge Blog
because her stamps are adorable.
Thank you so much for letting  me be here!

Today we also want to introduce the New Member of our Design Team,
We knew her though her entries in our challenges and we loved them.
So much that, finally, we decided to asked her if she would like to join us.
And we were so lucky that she accepted!
Here there is her project and a presentation on her own words.

I'm Vannessa and just turned the big 4-0 this summer, which made me realise that being 40 is no big deal at all. You're as old as you feel! I am a primary school teacher during the day, teaching a lively class of 7-8 year olds but I love it. I live with my partner of 18 years and our very spoilt cat Tallulah.

I started card making about 9 years ago now as something to keep me occupied during the long summer holidays and started with a very cheap £5 set from eBay but I soon got hooked and that £5 has been multiplied several times over! I love to colour with my Copics and you will notice I love my layers and embellishments on my cards too. Also if I can get away with it, a fair amount of pink creeps into my cards as well LOL

I discovered AliciaBel stamps a while ago when I found their first challenge whilst blog hopping around the internet and just had to buy a few images there and then! I was so incredibly excited when Aurora asked me to join the team and even more excited that Hallowe'en is the theme for my first DT project as it's my favourite celebration. Love anything creepy and spooky! Hugs, Vannessa x

Thank you Vannessa for joining us.

And now, I will leave you with the rest of the projects that our Dream Team
has made for your inspiration.

Virginia using Surprise

Beatriz using Dora the Protecting Witch

Maria using Sally

Aurora using Berta Barton

Hope yoy liked this and decide to join us.
Have a nice weeked.

September - Inspiration and Tutorial

Hi there!

It is inspiration day here at Aliciabel Challenge Blog and
we are here with some new projects designed specially for you!

And today also I made a mini tutorial on how to decorate your projects with stitching.

But before, let me remind you that there is still time to join our monthly challenge,
Anything Goes with Aliciabel images.

So, first awesome project:

Elena using Button label

And my project using Faery Godmother

And now, I was asked by a friend to make a tutorial on how to stitch on paper.
So, I took some pictures and here they are, for you all.

So, here you can see my tag and a paper piercing tool.
I normally use it on some scrap soft cardboard, the type you use for packaging,
but there is thick foam sheets specifically designed for this purpose.

First, pierce holes onto the card in the place where you want the stitching to go.
If you don't have a piercing tool, you could just use a needle to do it.

And then, just stitch around with a needle and a thread of your choice.

And this is how the stitched tag looks like.

Once I started building the tag, I thought I could also stitch my sentiment in it.
So, I used a pencil to write it.

Then, I pricked along it with the piercing tool.

And I stitched it with a darker thread.

Hope you liked this and felt inspired.

Have a nice weekend.
